This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding you need to be able to teach and assess the Qualsafe Awards range of mental health first aid qualifications.

Course Overview

According to Mental Health Foundation, it is estimated that 1 in 6 people in the past week experienced a common mental health problem. 

By becoming a Qualsafe Awards Mental Health First Aid Instructor you can help qualify Mental Health First Aiders in the workplace, assisting them to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and giving them the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support their colleagues appropriately.

What's Covered?

This course provides trainers with the knowledge and skills to deliver the Qualsafe Awards range of mental health first aid qualifications to the highest standard.  

During this course, learners will also achieve the QA Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) qualification, gaining in-depth knowledge and understanding of the course components which will expand your knowledge of mental health  and enable you to teach your learners to: 

  • Develop a better understanding of a variety of work-related mental health conditions, including stress, depression, anxiety disorders, and psychosis 
  • Recognise the characteristics and features of common mental health conditions 
  • Support their fellow employees who are experiencing mental health issues 
  • Promote a culture of positive mental health in the workplace 

During the course, our trainers will provide an engaging learning experience through the use of video, case study analysis, real-life examples of mental health issues, workbook activities, group discussions, and much more.

Things to consider before applying

Before applying for this course, please ensure you meet the following criteria: 

  • You must be at least 18 years old on the first day of training. 
  • You must hold a regulated teaching/training qualification.
